Is it anything like what we are having down here... it heats up to an unseasonable number, storms, and then cools to an unseasonable number? ;)

It's definitely been an odd year. We are still getting snow a few
times a week but at least it's warming up enough most days to melt
most of it. Not too much shovelling to do these days. I do still
have a lot more snow covered ground than bare, but it's not so
deep these days and any place you walk a lot tends to melt right
    down the the ground.

The bay our front where I get my water still has about 14 inches
of ice on it where normally it should be getting dangerous to
walk on the ice by now.. and the snowmobilers are still running
    around on it.

I can see about 1/2 mile out from here and there is no open water
showing at all yet, although farther out I'm sure the tiny bit of
water that stayed open this winter is probably getting wider every day..

Well.. it *is* Spring. the high-daytime / low-nightime swing is what the maple syrup season needs. ;)

You in Kentucky? Seems to be quite a zone for wild storms all the time.

I heard that some people were out on your Georgian Bay just yesterday - and there needed to be a rescue operation.

Oh, I get that. What I meant was that one day is way hotter than "normal"
for this time of year, that evening or the next day it storms, and by the next night we are under a Freeze Warning. That is not normal. ;)

What would be normal would be for us to start having some warmer than normal days around the end of March (now) thru early May, and then to have a cold front come through that would probably cause storms. The next day would
return to closer to normal... maybe lower but not frosting or freezing!

You in Kentucky? Seems to be quite a zone for wild storms all the time.

Not all the time, and not usually until late March-April-early May. It is getting worse because of what I describe above.

Again, not really dangerous. I could continue doing that all
the way to shore if I had to which was only about 60 feet
    further in..

Since it wasn't really dangerous, I bet it might have been amusing to an on-looker. :D
